Troubleshoot the GroupCamp contextual Gmail gadget †
This FAQ explains how to troubleshoot issues related to the GroupCamp contextual gadget for Gmail used by Google Apps users.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: GroupCamp for Gmail add-on replaces GroupCamp Gmail Gadget following Google's decision to shut down Gmail contextual Gadgets on August 1st, 2018.
The Gmail gadget does not work. I cannot access the 'Post a message' or the ‘New task' tabs. Why ?
There are several steps to follow in order to solve Gmail contextual gadget issues.
First of all, please note that the Google G Suite administrator needs to grant access to Mail information for GroupCamp.
Then, verify that GroupCamp is enabled for your users in the Google Admin console, find out more here: How to control Marketplace applications visibility for G Suite users.
To be able to use the Gmail gadget, please verify if you (or the user) can sign into a GroupCamp account using your Google Apps ID. Then make sure that you were invited to participate in at least one project for the 'New task' tab. If the 'New task' tab is not present, then check in the Admin panel if the New task button in the Google Apps icon has been checked. IMPORTANT NOTICE: The Gmail gadget works by communications between GroupCamp and Google. When a domain is attached to GroupCamp or when a new user has been added please note that there can be significant delay for the gadget to take changes into account.

Can I access multiple GroupCamp accounts with the Gmail contextual gadget ?
Yes in the upper right corner of the gmail contextual gadget, if you have grouped your GroupCamp accounts, you can switch accounts within the same contextual gadget.
The Gmail Gadget does not work in Internet Explorer 7 or 8
Please note that the Gmail gadget for GroupCamp Project is not supported on Internet Explorer 7.
If you are using Internet Explorer 8, please make sure you make the following changes in your Internet Options Security settings:
To enable cookies in Internet Explorer 8:
- Click Start > Control Panel. (With Windows XP Classic View, click the Windows Startbutton > Settings > Control Panel).
- Double-click the Internet Options icon.
- Select the Privacy tab.
- Click Advanced.
- Select "Override automatic cookie handling" under the "Cookies" section in the Advanced Privacy Settings window.
- Select the "Accept" or "Prompt" option under "First-party Cookies."
- Select the "Accept" or "Prompt" option under "Third-party Cookies." (If you select the "Prompt" option, you'll be asked for approval every time a website attempts to send you a cookie.)
- In the Internet Options window, click OK to exit.
